Accessibility Statement

What we have done

• Keyboard access. Every page starts with a “Skip to main content” link so keyboard users can bypass the header rather than tabbing through it on every page. Interactive elements show a visible focus indicator, and both the menu and the settings panel can be opened, operated and closed with the keyboard alone.
• Colour contrast. Body text, secondary text and links are checked against the WCAG AA thresholds (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) in both the light and dark themes.
• Structure. Pages use real landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer) and a single h1 with headings in order, so screen-reader users can navigate by heading and jump between regions.
• Navigation on every screen size. The full site navigation is available on phones through a menu that traps focus while open, closes with Escape, and marks the page you are on.
• Images. Meaningful images carry alternative text; purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology so they are not announced as noise.
• Motion. Animations respect the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting, and can also be switched off from the settings panel if your system setting is not enabled.
• Data tables. Tables use proper header cells, and wide tables scroll within their own container rather than forcing the whole page sideways.

Known limitations

We would rather list these than claim a clean sheet:

• Instructional diagrams. Our knot instructions are text-only. We chose not to publish diagrams we could not make clear, and text instructions are in any case more accessible to screen-reader users than an image would be.
• Third-party content. Links out to retailers and agencies lead to sites we do not control and whose accessibility we cannot guarantee.

We do not use an accessibility overlay

We deliberately do not install an accessibility widget or overlay. These tools claim to fix accessibility automatically, but they do not repair the underlying markup, and many disabled users report that they interfere with the screen readers and other assistive technology they already use. We prefer to fix the site itself.

Email chronicanglers@gmail.com and, if you can, include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. That detail is usually what makes a problem reproducible.

If we cannot fix something quickly, we will tell you what we can do in the meantime.
