Braid is sold on numbers that mostly do not matter, and the 832 is unusual because its headline specification is a real construction difference. Eight fibres, seven of them Dyneema, woven with one GORE Performance Fiber. That eighth fibre is there for abrasion resistance and to hold the line round, and roundness is what makes a braid cast.

Eight strands is a casting decision
Eight-strand braids are rounder and smoother than four-strand, so they run more quietly through the guides and go further. Four-strand is coarser and tougher against abrasion. The 832 sits firmly on the casting side of that trade, which makes it a spinning reel line first.
The GORE fibre is a genuine difference
Most premium braid differentiates on coating, which wears off. A structural fibre woven into the line does not wear off, and it is what keeps the cross-section round after the coating is long gone.
Run a leader with it
Braid is among the most visible lines in the water and it has the worst abrasion resistance of the three line types. Both problems live in the last three feet, and both are solved by a fluorocarbon or mono leader.
